By signing the framework agreement between Air Navigation services of the Czech Republic (ANS CR) and the Malta Air Traffic Services (MATS), another successful project for training of air traffic controllers for foreign clients was launched through the Czech Air Navigation Institute (CANI). Within the scope of the project CANI will train new ATCO students for MATS as well as perform refresher and development training for the current 55 MATS ATCOs.
A three-year framework agreement with an annual option provides MATS with coverage for its training needs for both Initial Training as well as Development Training courses for its air traffic control staff. The training will be performed according to the customer needs for all types of services provided – area navigation services and approach and aerodrome services.
"I see this commercial step as another very prestigious success for CANI, and it is proof of the quality and reputation of our training centre throughout Europe. Following our previous activities in the largest European tender - training for Bosnia and Herzegovina, training of Maltese ATCOs confirms our customer orientation and full competitiveness in the European market ", commented ANS CR Director General, Jan Klas, on signing of the contract.
Commercial activities are an increasingly important part of the ANS CR portfolio. The activities of the Czech Air Navigation Institute (CANI) generated revenue of over 100 million Czech crowns in the previous year. Dynamic growth has also been seen in the demands of foreign clients for the flight inspection services, which have been provided to the CANI client base over the past years.
