ANS CR raised its profit by CZK 28m to CZK 536m on almost CZK 3.4bn sales last year and the profit grew despite a lower number of flights over Central Europe due to the Ukrainian crisis, ANS CR announced in a press release.
The bottom line was improved by the sale of an unused building for CZK210m.
ANS CR put the shortfall in revenues for navigation services due to the crisis in Ukraine at CZK 85m. Lower use of Czech airports by airlines caused further losses.
Charges for navigation services made up 89 percent of ANS CR 's revenues and the rest came from commercial activities like training of air traffic controllers and aircraft crews within Czech Air Navigation Institute and Czech Aviation Training Center. Payments for approach and aerodrome services contribute only 13 percent to ANS CR 's revenues.
ANS CR 's biggest clients were Lufthansa, Emirates of the United Arab Emirates, Turkish Airlines and Qatar Airlines.
According to international rules, most of ANS CR 's profit should go for the development of aviation. The company said the money would be used, for example, for the purchase of a new ATM system.
